About Me

Hello, my name is Arilyn Oatman, and I am currently attending Iowa State University with a major in Global Resource Systems and minors in French, Food and Society, and Teaching English as a Second Language. I have a passion for sustainable agriculture, animal nutrition, and education; hoping to utilize these passions within my career. I am an active member of the National FFA Organization, having served as the 2019-2020 Pennsylvania FFA State Sentinel advocating for agriculture and agriculture education. I am continuing my advocacy at Iowa State University as a Global Resource Systems Ambassador.

Throughout high school, I was an active member of my school’s FFA chapter. It was here that I started Brightside Feeds. Initially, it was only intended to be an SAE (supervised agriculture experience) project as part of my FFA involvement. I was conducting research trials on the effects of raw food diets on animal nutrition. Little did I know it would grow to what it is today.

I hope to continue to build and grow my business to encompass the entire United States. I plan to continue my research to develop my core recipes and expand into livestock production, primarily poultry, someday.
